Update on Life

Summer is upon us! I’m planning on getting back to a routine of posting more thoughts on life and ministry. For all of my 2 or maybe 3 readers, I will more coming!

• Lately, I’ve been spending a lot of time planning and praying about message series, events, small group growth, leader recruitment and more!
• Personally, I’ve been feeling a lot better since my two procedures a few weeks ago. God has blessed me with family and friends that REALLY pray! My blood count and iron level is coming up. Praise the Lord!
• I’m heading to wedding #3 of the summer this weekend. I’m heading to one of my best friends, Chris Miller’s wedding in Sacramento, CA. I’m super excited for him! He has been a faithful friend to me and I appreciate him. I’ve never been to California, so I look forward to checking out the “left coast.”
• I’m heading to Puerto Rico on June 5th with 30 students/parents to go and build homes and share Christ with World Changers! Pray for the group and that God uses us in a mighty way to share the love and gospel of Christ.
• Thankful for an awesome wife! She wrote a new worship song yesterday that was great! Praying that God will use her in a mighty way and provide opportunities to sing and write for His glory.
• Staying fixed upon loving Jesus and others is my desire over the summer. I pray that many relationships are strengthened this summer!

Update on life

Life has been flying by lately…

• We are moving into our house this weekend! It is our first home, so we are excited
• Almost finished with the first half of the semester for seminary – 2-3 papers a week is wearing on me!
• Youth Pastor Summit was awesome – favorite speaker was David Ferguson – He prayed with me and really spoke into my life.
• Right after the conference on day 1, they give out free tickets to Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios! We got to ride the Hulk twice! Had a great time bringing my wife, Cassidy and friends Josh and Ellen!!

• Baptizing two students this Sunday – thankful to see God changing lives!
• Cassidy’s new CD “New Day” is in process of being duplicated – PRE-ORDER a CD!
• Heidi (golden retriever puppy) is growing fast! I’m training her to be a good gun dog!
• Finishing up plans for a Disciple-NOW beach retreat on April 9-11! Excited to have a weekend focused on students learning to live a lifestyle of worship. My brother Jeff is coming to speak, younger brother Justin will lead “Late Nite” and Tim and Em will lead worship!
• Praying for our Puerto Rico Mission trip this June. I’m taking 31 students and parents for a week to build homes and share the gospel.
• Last but not least. At the conference this last few days, I saw some great hairstyles, outfits and looks of youth pastors! I love what I’m able to do and enjoy hanging out with youth workers. The video below is awesome and very true!

Update on Life

Here is a quick snapshot of what has been happening in life lately!

• The New Year has been a blessing – We are seeing God do great things! Baptizing 4 students in the morning!
• We are praying for a home – we put an offer on one but are awaiting word on if it is in foreclosure and all the details of working through it.
• I’m pumped for the summer – Puerto Rico mission trip and WIRED camp will be awesome.
• I had the chance to preach both services last Sunday morning – it was a blessing to share with the church. A 5th grade girl received Christ!
• I’ve been working hard on planning the “Totally Consumed” Beach Retreat – April 9-11 in PCB, Florida. Looking forward to having my brother Jeff speak and Tim and Em Flowers lead worship!
• We have 31 people going on our Puerto Rico mission trip this summer! Excited that they have committed to come and serve.
• Looking forward to the last season of LOST and 24
• I start Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary classes Monday morning. Pray for me. I’m taking 2 classes at a time. My goal is to be done with my master’s degree this summer.

Update on life!

Life has been really busy lately with ministry, marriage and life! Here’s a quick snapshot of what is happening in my life:

• Spent a wonderful thanksgiving with my family in Greenville, SC – ate lots of food, I DID shop on “black friday” and got great deals!
• I almost finished my Christmas shopping on “black friday”
• Just finished a two week series called, “Getting this Christmas Right” – we focused upon the “Gift” of the gospel and not upon the material gifts of Christmas.
• We finished the JV boys basketball season for the high school here in Ashford. I enjoyed coaching and building relationships with the guys. I sure miss the days when I played!
• Cassidy’s new album is coming together nicely! We are going back to Nashville to finish up the recording the week after Christmas!
• Praying that God will move in a mighty way in 2010!
• I shot my first deer this afternoon (I will post pics later) – it was awesome!
• We watched the movie “Blindside” last week with my small group – one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! Great story!
• Happy birthday to my wonderful mother – Jennifer Robinson today!! She is such a godly example of a mom and I’m so thankful for her!
